The RI Holocaust and Genocide Education Commission is pleased to share our latest booklist to use during April 2024 Genocide Awareness Month, featuring books appropriate for middle school students as well as high school students & adults. Logo Winners Announced!
We are pleased to announce the winners of our 2024 logo contest! The Commission invited students in grades 6 to 12 to design a logo for use on its website and print materials. Students were told that the logo should reflect the goals of the Commission and illustrate respect for people impacted by genocide.
Awards for the first place logo and the two runners-up will be presented at an event on April 1, 2024 at 6:00 PM at the Sandra Bornstein Holocaust Education Center (inside the Jewish Community Center) at 401 Elmgrove Avenue in Providence, RI.

The mission of the Rhode Island Holocaust and Genocide Education Commission is to empower educators and their school communities to integrate learning about the Holocaust and other genocides as integral parts of their school cultures and studies. This includes providing resources and professional development for teachers to enable them to incorporate these topics into their curricula.
This website is designed to help educators easily find resources and professional development opportunities. It will also share information about community events related to furthering awareness of the Holocaust and other genocides.
